How It Works

Selling your Mac to us takes three steps: get a fixed quote in 2 working hours, post the Mac free with our fully-insured label, and receive a bank transfer within 24 hours of it passing inspection. Here's each step in detail - including what happens if inspection doesn't match, and why you're protected either way.

  • Free insured shipping
  • Paid within 24h of inspection
  • Data wiped to NIST standards
  • Free returns if you decline

Simple, fast, insured

How it works

Three steps from quote to cash: free insured post, no fees at any point.

  1. Get your quote

Tell us your Mac's model, spec and condition in the two-minute form. We email a fixed quote within 2 working hours, 7 days a week, locked for 14 days.

  2. Post it free

We email a prepaid, fully insured shipping label. Box your Mac, drop it at any Post Office, and we carry the transit risk, not you. Desktops are collected by courier.

  3. Paid within 24 hours

We inspect your Mac on the day it arrives and pay by bank transfer within 24 hours of it passing inspection. Decline a revised quote? We return your Mac free.

1. Get your quote - 2 working hours, locked for 14 days

Fill in the two-minute form with your Mac's model, chip, storage and honest condition. We email a fixed quote within 2 working hours, 7 days a week. That number is locked for 14 days - the market can drop, your quote can't. There's no obligation at this stage and no account to create.

Broken Mac? Same form, same speed. Select 'Faulty/broken', describe what's wrong, and the quote you receive already prices the fault in. No photographing damage, no email ping-pong.

2. Post it free - insured by us, not you

Accept your quote and we email a prepaid shipping label the same day. Box your Mac with decent padding, stick the label on, and drop it at any Post Office branch. For desktops - iMacs, larger setups - we book a free courier collection from your door instead.

Every label we issue is fully insured to your quote's value, at our expense. From the moment it's in the postal network, transit risk sits with us. This is worth checking anywhere you sell: some services' terms make you liable if the courier damages your device. Ours never do.

3. Get paid - within 24 hours of passing inspection

Your Mac arrives next working day from most of the UK. We inspect it the day it lands, and if it matches your description, payment goes out by bank transfer within 24 hours. Most sellers are paid the same day their Mac arrives.

If inspection finds something the form didn't cover, we email a revised offer with photos and a plain explanation. Accept it, and payment proceeds as normal. Decline it, and we post your Mac back to you free, insured, no questions and no return fee - a promise not every buyer makes.

Whatever happens, your data is erased to NIST 800-88 standards before the machine goes anywhere near resale.

Before you post anything, see our guides on wiping your MacBook and packaging it safely.

Good to know

How it works - your questions, answered

Everything sellers ask us before posting their Mac - answered straight.

How long does the whole process take, from quote to payment?

Two to three working days is typical. The quote arrives by email within 2 working hours, seven days a week. Post the Mac on our free label and it reaches us the next working day from most of the UK. Payment leaves by bank transfer within 24 hours of it passing inspection.

What happens if you revise my offer after inspection?

You get an email with photos and a plain explanation of what we found, before anything else happens. Accept it and payment proceeds as normal. Decline it and we post the Mac back to you free and fully insured, with no return fee and no obligation to explain yourself.

What if my Mac is lost or damaged in the post?

You are covered. The label we email is insured to your quote's value at our expense, and the transit risk sits with us rather than you from the moment it enters the postal network. Keep the proof-of-postage receipt the counter gives you and you still get paid.

Do I have to wipe the Mac before I send it?

Wiping is best practice and we recommend it, but the one genuine requirement is signing out of iCloud and turning off Find My - Activation Lock stops a sale entirely. Whatever state a machine arrives in, we erase every drive to NIST 800-88 standards after inspection.

How do I get paid, and can I choose a different method?

Payment is by UK bank transfer to the account you give us when you accept the quote - no vouchers, no store credit and no PayPal fees taken off the top. The amount that arrives is the amount quoted. Bank details are only ever requested after you accept.

Can I change my mind after accepting the quote?

Yes. Accepting a quote is not a contract to sell: if you decide to keep the Mac before posting it, simply do not send it, and the quote lapses after 14 days. If it has already arrived with us, tell us and we return it free and insured.
