Dead or swollen batteries, sticky keys, missing keycaps, broken trackpads, faulty speakers - these partial faults cost you the least, typically 60-80% of working value because the machine fundamentally works. Activation Lock comes off in two minutes at icloud.com if the Mac is yours, even when it won't boot; a forgotten Apple ID is recovered at iforgot.apple.com or via Apple's proof-of-purchase route; an ex-employer's MDM profile is released by that organisation in Apple Business Manager. Unlocked, the Mac is quoted at its normal price.

iCloud-locked Macs - the one thing we can't buy

Is my broken MacBook really worth anything?
Almost certainly, yes. A faulty M-series MacBook typically sells for between 30% and 80% of its working value depending on the fault: 60-80% for a dead battery or keyboard, 45-55% for a cracked screen, 30-45% for liquid damage or a Mac that won't turn on. The price table on this page gives £ figures by model. The only true write-off is an iCloud-locked machine.
Do I have to email photos of the damage first?
No - that's the whole point of how we work. You describe the fault in the quote form (cracked screen, won't turn on, water damage) and get an instant quote by email. Most broken-Mac buyers make you email photos and wait days; we think that's why people give up and get lowballed.
Which faults do you buy?
Any fault on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1-generation and newer): cracked screens, liquid damage, machines that won't turn on, dead or swollen batteries, faulty keyboards and trackpads, missing keys, dead speakers. Each fault has its own page with value bands and a quote form. The only exclusion is an Activation-Locked machine.
Can you sell a MacBook for parts?
Yes, but you don't need to strip it. We buy the complete faulty machine - screen, board, battery, enclosure - and pay for the whole unit in one bank transfer within 24 hours of inspection. Selling parts individually on eBay or Gumtree usually nets less once fees, postage and no-shows are counted, and takes weeks.
Why can't you buy iCloud-locked MacBooks?
Because an iCloud-locked Mac can't be erased, reactivated or legally resold - the Activation Lock ties it permanently to the owner's Apple ID. If it's your machine, sign in at icloud.com and remove it from Find My; the lock disappears and we can buy it at full quote.
