This is the newest family in our form. Apple announced the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max on 9 September 2025 and put them on sale on 19 September 2025. The lower-priced iPhone 17e followed on 11 March 2026. When Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max on 9 September 2026, it withdrew the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max from sale, so those two are now the previous Pro generation.

What changed in the iPhone 17 line, and why does it matter for your quote?
Storage starts at 256GB on every model here. Apple dropped the 128GB tier for the iPhone 17 and the Pro models, and the 17e comes in 256GB or 512GB only. The 17 Pro Max is the one iPhone we buy with a 2TB option. Because the ladder starts higher, the capacity you pick is one of the biggest inputs to your quote, so read it from Settings > General > About rather than guessing from the box.
The 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max moved from titanium to an aluminium unibody with a vapour chamber for cooling, in Silver, Cosmic Orange or Deep Blue. Aluminium takes knocks differently from titanium: small dents along the frame edges and scuffs around the raised camera plateau are the marks to look for before you choose between "Like new" and "Normal wear" in the form.
Is the iPhone Air bought the same way?
Yes. The iPhone Air sits in the iPhone 17 line in our form, with the A19 Pro chip and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB in Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold or Sky Blue. At 5.6mm it was the thinnest iPhone Apple had made when it launched, and it is the only model of this generation with a titanium frame.
It is also eSIM-only in every country, so there is no SIM tray to empty before you post it. The step that matters is moving your plan to your new phone, then erasing the Air and its eSIM, which our guide to preparing an iPhone for sale walks through. With one 48MP Fusion camera and a very slim body, the rear glass and the camera lens are what we inspect most closely; a cracked back belongs under "Back glass cracked" in the form.
What about the iPhone 17e?
The 17e is listed alongside the rest of the family: A19 chip, 256GB or 512GB, in Black, White or Soft Pink. It went on sale in March 2026, so it is the youngest phone we buy and may still be inside Apple's one-year limited warranty or covered by AppleCare. Say so in the message box, and keep the box with it: "Original box" is one of the accessories the form asks about.
When is the right time to sell an iPhone 17?
Used iPhone values tend to step down when a newer model arrives, and the iPhone 18 Pro is that step for the 17 Pro and Pro Max. If you have already moved to a new phone, the old one is only losing value in a drawer. Asking costs nothing: the quote is fixed for your phone, locked for 14 days, and you decide whether to accept. Do you buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB?
Yes. The form lists the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, in Silver, Cosmic Orange or Deep Blue. Choose the capacity shown in Settings, General, About. Because iPhones are priced by hand, a 2TB quote is written for your own phone rather than read from a price table.
Do you buy the iPhone 18 Pro?
Not at the moment. Our form lists the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 families only, so the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max that Apple announced on 9 September 2026 are not in it. If you are upgrading to one, the iPhone you are replacing is the one we can quote.
My iPhone Air has no SIM tray. What do I remove before I send it?
Only the eSIM. Check your new phone has working service first, then erase the Air in Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, Erase All Content and Settings, and choose to erase the eSIM as well. Your mobile plan carries on until you cancel or move it with your network.
What does an iPhone 17 Pro quote depend on?
Model, storage and colour first, then your answers: whether it turns on, the screen, any liquid, faults such as Face ID or the cameras, battery health, how it looks, and whether the box and a genuine Apple charger come with it. Photos are optional, but the form notes they get you a firmer price.
